The workshop was titled “The further into the forest, the more gold you find. Images and Words.” I wanted us to experience the power of collage and how surprisingly much it can say about ourselves and the world around us. You don’t need any artistic ability to cut out shapes. Just grab a pair of scissors and … things begin to happen!
During the workshop we tried different cutting techniques and learned about the works of selected artists. We worked with photos of trees in Milanowek, with new and old newspapers and beautifully illustrated albums. There was some group practice, and then everyone had an opportunity to immerse themselves in their own world of collage. Collage promotes concentration and stimulates imagination. We searched for the right words and created poetry. And at the end we planted a tree.

The workshop was part of the final events of the “Trees More Precious Than Gold” project, funded by the EEA Funds – Country Program.

The project “Trees More Precious Than Gold” was implemented by the “Musszelka” foundation in Milanówek. It was a great adventure to get to know this town’s trees and its wonderful residents!
