On 15-16 August 2025, the Van Gogh Festival will take place in the village of Brzózki in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province. There are nine murals dedicated to the painter’s work in Brzózki. The people who live there have a great passion for art.
In one of his letters, Vincent wrote ‘Vae Soli’. This passage from the most beautiful book of the Bible, the Book of Ecclesiastes (the full sentence reads ‘Woe to the lonely man when he falls, and there is no one to lift him up’) accompanied him during the creation of many paintings and portraits. He repeatedly painted and drew sadness and suffering. My favourite paintings have always been the portrait of a crying old man (he appears in my animation in a new role!!!) and ‘The Good Samaritan’.
I created a collage animation inspired by van Gogh. It is participating in a film competition organised as part of the VAN GOGH Festival. VAN GOGH Festival. Ahoy, adventure!
