“Poetry Recycling” is a series of 5 collage meetings that I will conduct in September at the Jan Twardowski Public Library in Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district. The first workshop will take place on Saturday, September 14, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, as part of the library patron’s birthday.
The project was co-financed by funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture.
During the meeting we will be inspired by poetry. In dusty cardboard boxes we will find old poetry volumes, biographies of writers and poets, beautiful illustrations of animals and plants. It will be a journey full of adventure, dialogue and freedom. We will create improvised dramas from collages, maybe we will compose our own poem?
The collage workshop aims to show participants the power of collage and how surprisingly much it can say about ourselves and the world around us. In collage everything is possible: a man with the head of a tiger, a school as a spaceship or people sunbathing on Saturn… To cut out, you do not need to have artistic skills. Just grab a pair of scissors and… things start to happen!
