On 6 September 2025, the Museum of Caricature in Warsaw hosted a pop-up exhibition of my collages from the series “What do cheeky monkeys do?” The event accompanied the 4th Zine Fair.

It was probably in 2009 when I was doing an interview for the culture section of WP.PL (those were the days when such a thing still existed, with the head of the department, Małgorzata Skrobecka, who agreed to my various ideas) with the then director of what was already my favourite museum – the Caricature Museum , Wojciech Chmurzyński, an outstanding expert on, among other things, the works of Bruno Schulz. At the time, I was discussing whether and when caricature is kitsch. I was extremely fascinated by this topic. That is, kitsch in general. If someone had told me then that in 2025 I would make over 50 collages with monkeys and that they would be displayed on the walls on Kozia Street, I would probably have dropped dead.

Meanwhile, I am still alive and this exhibition did indeed take place! It is with great pleasure that I present here photographs taken by Julia Pietrzak-Szczudło.

There were over 50 works on the walls. I also decided to print a few monkeys in XXL size; ideally, I would like to see them all in this size.

A corner with my artistic bio and self-portraits:

In the display cases, I showed handmade collages:

Many guests attended the opening. They were welcomed by Paweł Płoski, Director of the Museum.

My animation about monkeys was displayed on the wall, and the song for it was created by Dorota Klamka (lyrics) and Ewa Mysłakowska (music). At the opening, there was singing, playing and dancing!

My friends Tanja Ulbrich and Anthony D. Kelly also came to the exhibition. It was great to see you! Thank you for your support and help!

I also received gifts: besides a banana and champagne, I got a fish!

I went wild and even made panties with monkeys on them. You could also buy postcards, ties, T-shirts, bags, stickers, notebooks and pins! Baba with a fish also got her moment in the spotlight. Malicious people said that the whole event was just to promote Baba with a fish. I disagree! 🙂

And the next day, we encountered a gorilla at Castle Square! Truly, there are no coincidences!
